Okay, so I have been looking for a carbon fiber mouse for a while. Carbon fiber sounds like a great material for a mouse, but there aren’t that many of them. I found some time and researched the topic the best I can and here are my findings.
C1 | Carbon Fiber Wireless Gaming Mouse [48g]

C1 Carbon Fiber Mouse was a kickstarter project launched in 2022, but it didn’t meet the needed threshold and all backers were refunded. Here’s a quote from the Midnight Thread team:
The C1 project has received a lot of attention and funding thanks to you guys. We deeply appreciate that and are very grateful for all the support. I know some of you have stayed with us since the very beginning of the project and we couldn’t appreciate that enough. It’s very much our pleasure to be able to work with such amazing people and supporters to bring the project to this stage. Despite overwhelming support, however, we’re planning to halt the current pre-order and go back to the drawing board to work on improving the product. We’ve actually been working in secret on another mouse for a while now, we haven’t officially announced it yet because it was still a bit in the early stage. But be sure to stick around! This will have side buttons, a standard shape, 4k polling and basically all the feedback that we’ve received baked in.
Pre-orders are on hold for now, but we have noted down the discord/email of those who have backed us during Kickstarter. If you guys do purchase our product in the future, we’ll make sure that you will also receive special deals and perks. Thanks a lot for believing in us 🙂

EVGA TORQ X10 Carbon Fiber Edition
This mouse is no longer in production, but you can probably still buy it on Amazon or eBay. It had good reviews, but it wasn’t that lightweight at 4 ounces (113 grams), because carbon fiber material was only used for a part of the mouse.
Mad Catz The Authentic R.A.T. PRO X3 wired Gaming Mouse
- Multi-button functionality for maximum precision and control: Scroll wheel, Left click, Right click, DPI button, Forward, Backward, Precision button, Profile button; Customizable scroll wheel with 3 included options – calibrate tension using included hex tool or swap wheels for a variety of threading and material options
- Precision button instantly increases or decreases sensitivity ideal for in-game sniping; Adjustable DPI – up to 16000; PIXART PMW3389 Sensor
This is another mouse only partly made with carbon fiber, it has carbon fiber thumb rests. This is a pretty good mouse overall though.
ARYE FCC-1 fiber carbon mouse

This is still a prototype as of 2023, but it looks very promising. Firstly the project was aimed at 30 gram mouse, but it’s now estimated to be around 40 grams, which is still super lightweight and it would be one of lightest mouses in the market.
You can follow the project development on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AryeGear
Finalmouse UltralightX

Yet another mouse with a carbon fiber component, here it’s a chassis, so a pretty big one. That’s why this mouse is extremely lightweight at only 29 grams.
In summary, the search for a great carbon fiber mouse has led us to some interesting findings. While some projects, like the C1 Carbon Fiber Mouse, faced challenges, others like the EVGA TORQ X10 and the Finalmouse UltralightX made an impact with their unique features.
Not all mice are entirely made of carbon fiber. Some, like the Mad Catz R.A.T. PRO X3, use it for specific parts. This mix of materials aims to balance strength and weight. The reviews from users provide valuable insights into the performance and feel of these mice.
Looking ahead, projects like the ARYE FCC-1 show promise, even though they’re still in the prototype stage. Developers are listening to user feedback, making improvements, and working on exciting new features.
Even if a mouse is no longer in production, you might still find it on platforms like Amazon or eBay. This means that even older models with good reviews can be an option for those on a budget.
The world of gaming mice is moving fast, with developers aiming to make lighter, faster, and better-performing devices. The Midnight Thread team and ARYE FCC-1 are examples of this commitment to improvement.
Whether you’re a serious gamer or just looking for a good mouse, the future seems bright. More projects are likely to bring even lighter, more responsive, and feature-packed carbon fiber mice, catering to the preferences of gamers worldwide. Keep an eye on the evolving market for exciting developments in gaming technology.
