GameSir G7 Pro vs Cyclone 2 – Should you spend $30 more?

Gamesir G7 Pro and Cyclone 2 side by side Gamesir G7 Pro and Cyclone 2 side by side

GameSir is currently on a roll, releasing controller after controller. GameSir is aiming at two distinct segments of the market with the G7 Pro and the Cyclone 2, both of which features GameSir’s Mag-Res TMR stick technology.

While they might look similar on a spec sheet, these two gamepads are quite different in how they feel and the stuff they can do. Gamesir G7 Pro is more premium, Xbox-licensed controller, designed to compete with the Xbox Elite controller, while the Cyclone 2 is a versatile, multi-platform “budget flagship” that doesn’t compromise on performance.

In this article, we’ll find out whether the G7 Pro is worth the extra $30, or is the Cyclone 2 really all you need.

My thoughts on which one to buy…

Both of these Gamesir controllers are excellent. And honestly they both provide a good value too.

By picking the Gamesir Cyclone 2, you won’t be missing out on too much in the performance department. It shares the same excellent DNA as the G7 Pro. It trims off some things, which you can see in the lack of rubber grips or in the cheap feeling cable included in the box. But the controller itself mostly performs on par with the G7 Pro. Especially consider the Macro and Turbo features, which the G7 Pro is lacking.

But this doesn’t mean that the G7 Pro’s $30 higher price doesn’t offer you anything. It adds a lot of features for that price. You get extra bumpers, optical switches, Xbox support, a ton of included and available accessories, and better materials. The Gamepass Ultimate is a bonus.

In conclusion, both are good options. You won’t regret buying either of these controllers. Even if your budget allows buying the G7 Pro, you should consider the Cyclone 2 because of the Turbo and Macro feature. If this isn’t very important to you, and you want the additional features that the G7 Pro provides, you can go for that one.
