Is there any decent Vertical Gaming Mouse?

So I have switched to vertical gaming mice a few years ago because my wrist started hurting while gaming and I really didn’t want to risk developing carpal tunnel. So I have been using a regular vertical mouse, it took me a week to get used to it but I have never looked back – I love it. I use it for gaming aswell and I have gotten just as good with it as with a regular mouse.

The problem is – it’s 125Hz polling rate and I couldn’t find a proper gaming mouse that is at least 1000Hz polling rate. But now looking through Amazon, Aliexpress and other stores I have finally found a couple of somewhat decent options.

ZELOTES C-18

  • 11 buttons
  • 10000 DPI
  • 125-1000Hz polling rate
  • a bit heavy
  • for medium sized hands
  • PixArt 3325 sensor
  • scroll wheel is average
  • USB-A connection?!
  • overall great pick at the price
  • $29.99

GXT 144 Rexx

GXT 144 Rexx is the second viable option for a vertical mouse for video games. Up to 1000Hz polling rate, 6 buttons, software for macro settings, 250-10000 DPI. It was released in 2019 so it’s quite old and the price is $44.99.

Logitech MX Vertical

Logitech MX Vertical is one of the most popular vertical mice, but it’s really bad for gaming due to its 125Hz polling rate which adds 8ms lag to your movements in video games. It’s also bulky and not great for small hands.

ProtoArc EM11 NL

ProtoArc EM11 NL is another popular vertical mouse, but it’s only wireless with 125Hz dongle polling rate and 250Hz via Bluetooth, but Bluetooth ofcourse creates extra latency vs if it was a wired connection. It’s a nice entry budget mouse, but really bad for gaming.

You can more easily get an ergo mouse with 1000Hz or even 4000Hz polling rate like the Keychron M6, but it’s an ergo mouse and not a vertical one. Let’s hope there will be more releases with Pixart 3395 gaming grade sensor in a vertical mice.

  1. Hey man! Look at the Canyon Emisat mouse. It is a vertical gaming mouse that has extra buttons and 1000Hz polling rate.

It was my first vertical mouse and I still use it to the day. I found your article because I was about to upgrade my mouse, to find something new, but looks like the market is still not created something decent. Looks like I just should continue to use the Canyon mouse.

  2. Hmm. It seems you’re right, I can’t find it in shops near me either. That’s sad. In my recent searches I also found some good vertical mice but they are also out of stock now. And there are no new models. So I guess when my Canyon Emisat dies I will have only option to switch to something from AliExpress 🙁

The ZELOTES C-18 looks… OK. It even has the joystick (that is just 5 buttons right? it’s not an actual joystick hahah, just like on Emisat) but it is too high in my opinion. On my current mouse I can just slightly move my thumb to push on the joystick, and I use it in games. With ZELOTES C-18 it looks like you should get your thumb quite up to reach it.
